Introduction to the Westminster School League

The London Basketball Association is thrilled to announce the fifth season of the ‘City of Westminster’ High School League and Tournaments. A platform which will allow many teams and individuals to take part in real basketball games and everything that comes with it! It is going to be super exciting as we have 3 stages to get through which are sure to be full of nail-biting stuff! This season we raised the bar slightly and we have some spectacular benefits. Categories will be given two divisions where possible, Division A will have a form of home & away, as it is designed to meet the needs of the stronger basketball programmes in the borough. Division B will be in Round Robin format as previous seasons and a great place for schools to compete against their rivals.

Advantages of joining

  1. Most leagues have to play games on a Wednesday. Our league is flexible and can play games on any day of the week.
  2. Once you know the teams to play, you communicate amongst yourselves and send confirmation through to the league. ([email protected])
  3. Team entry covers one (1) qualified referee for all your games which LBA will arrange. Please note, for playoff games there will be 2 referees.
  4. LBA wants to collaborate with each school, qualifying more basketball professionals into the sport throughout the season (coaches, referees and table officials)
    • With this said, LBA will run nationally recognised qualification courses for table official (2hrs) and for referees (4hrs) and give every school 10 FREE places*. This is to help support home games throughout the season.
    • An LBA representative will be in touch regarding more opportunities on qualifying your students and school representatives
  5. LBA has an annual membership for individuals and organisations, which includes many benefits & all players in the league entitled to it this season (worth up to £200+ per person)
  6. Team standings and fixtures can all be found on our website so you can keep track and stay updated throughout the season.
