Octavia Supports LBA For Second Year In A Row

The London Basketball Association has received funding from the Octavia Foundation for the second year in a row.

Staff from the LBA attended the annual Octavia summit to discuss our project and connect with like-minded organisations.

The funding will enable the LBA to run basketball sessions for young people, helping to increase participation in the sport to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

In addition to providing access to basketball opportunities, the LBA will also upscale young people by providing training and development programmes, allowing them to build their skills and gain valuable experience.

This initiative will create a pathway for young people to develop their skills, gain coaching and refereeing qualifications, and ultimately help to grow the sport of basketball in London.

As one of LBA’s commitments is to create a lasting impact in the community, therefore this funding will be used to train young people as coaches, Officials and Media Crew.

The LBA is grateful for the support of the Octavia Foundation and looks forward to using the funding to make a real difference in the lives of young people across London.

Through the medium of basketball, the LBA is able to increase the employability prospects of our young people enabling them to realise their potential.
