The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children.
Why do you need a DBS check?
Everyone who officiates (referee or table official) or coaches players that are aged 18 years or under must possess a DBS to become a licensed official or coach with Basketball England. Please note that other qualifications (such as Safeguarding Children), in addition to existing officiating and coaching qualifications are also required.
How to get a DBS check?
LBA is a verifier to provide DBS checks. Contact us to request for a DBS check and we will send you an email asking for your documents and send a link to the portal for you to fill out. Your DBS check document will be received within four weeks of submission.
