Coaching courses

Learn to be a great coach who has the ability to work and connect with players, to help them improve and to draw the potential out of them. This type of coach will inspire players, create a great, successful team and keep them motivated to play. You will organise team practice, supervise physical activities, analyse individual players and the team as whole, create game strategies, as well as guide and motivate your team.

 

 

 

Basketball Coaching Level 1:

 

This is the basic level of coaching qualification, which gives outline knowledge of basketball, and enables the holder to introduce basketball and to assist a Level 2 Coach (or above). The main focus is to equip coaches with “how to coach skills”, as in how to provide a safe environment, to build rapport with their players, how to organise, instruct, demonstrate, observe, analyse, communicate and provide feedback, as well as the traditional “what to Coach skills” of technique and tactics.

 

This course consists of 5 sections:

 

– Unit 1 deals with role of the coach, child protection and safety

– Unit 2 entails planning a session

– Unit 3 addresses the conduction of a coaching session

– Unit 4 teaches individual fundamentals

– Unit 5 shares team play fundamentals.

 

Minimum age requirement of 16.

 

 

Basketball Coaching Level 2:

 

The Level 2 Coach qualification gives candidates the skill base and confidence to deliver coaching sessions. This is the first level of coaching that doesn’t require supervision. If you would like to improve your coaching skills, or embark on a career as a Basketball Coach then the Level 2 Basketball Coach Course is perfect for you. Candidates are strongly recommended to have attended and successfully completed a Level 1 Coach course, and should have a sound basic understanding and good experience of Basketball and delivering to groups. This 4 day course provides candidates with all the knowledge they require to coach a club / school team in training and games.

 

This course consists of 7 sections:

 

– Unit 1 deals with role of the coach, child protection and safety

– Unit 2 entails planning a session

– Unit 3 addresses the conduction of a coaching session

– Unit 4 teaches individual fundamentals

– Unit 5 shares team fundamentals

– Unit 6 includes developing team play

– Unit 7 implicates sports science.

 

Minimum age requirement of 18.
